  • Use peppermint extract instead of vanilla for a mint hot chocolate drink! yum =)
  • I sometimes use unsweetened chocolate almond milk instead of regular almond milk to really up the chocolate factor.
  • This is great as an iced drink as well; simply let it cool a bit and pour over ice. Enjoy!

  • Stir the unsweetened cocoa powder and the Swerve sweetener together in a medium saucepan, breaking up any lumps.
  • Turn on stovetop to medium-low heat, place saucepan with cocoa mixture on stove and whisk in the heavy cream slowly. Whisking until it is well incorporated.
  • Slowly pour in the almond milk and whisk to blend well. Continue to heat over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until the liquid is hot. Do NOT boil.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour into your favorite mug, garnish with whipped cream and drink up!
